Cuba Photo Workshop Itinerary

DAY 1 ARRIVAL
You will need to arrive at the hotel in Havana, Cuba latest by 5:00 p.m., because the workshop starts there with a mandatory, introductory meeting.
The group will then get settled at the hotel and leave shortly after to have a nice welcome dinner a chosen restaurant: The paladar Nao.

DAY 2
The next morning starts with a light breakfast at your hotel and is followed by the first photography lesson with main focus on your
camera settings, composition elements (also understanding miksang) and basic photo techniques.

Your group - under guidance of your instructor Tati Biermas - then goes out on the first photo walk; using your new skills and your own creativity to turn an ordinary image into an extraordinary image. You will stroll the back streets, capture daily life situations and move forward into the touristic zone with its famous attractions, beautiful plazas and squares. 

After lunch, you will first visit the famous “Camara Oscura” and then come back to your hotel for a photography lesson about low light photography followed by a guided photo walk to the incomparable Malecón, the 8 km (5 miles) long seawall that is one of the social centers in the city and a place where lovers gather, musicians practice, boys swim and fisherman cast their nets or jig lines.

Dinner will be on your own this evening.

DAY 3
After a light breakfast at the hotel, it’s time for another photography lecture.
You will learn 
about street photography including great tips about architecture, cars, and people photography, an effective camera set up, and story-telling aspects in photography.
You then go out with the guided group to an artsy Cuban-African neighborhood to photograph and have lunch right there at the Barracon de Hamel paladar.

After lunch you have the option of having some free time where you may want to go out on your own to explore the city some more, or relax or discuss photographic techniques/ philosophy/inspiring ideas with your group leader Tati Biermas.

Final group dinner will be at the paladar:  El Del Frente to mark the end of our workshop.

DAY 4  DEPARTURE
Check-Out of the hotel in the morning and transfer to the international airport La Habana.
